Case Episode #7: Meet Joanna

Joanna, a 37-year-old patient, complains of severe pain localized to her maxillary left posterior region, particularly tooth number 15. Despite no visible facial swelling, her agony rates off the charts, reaching 10 or even 11 out of 10 on the pain scale. She has been enduring this pain for three weeks, managing it with ibuprofen, albeit with limited success. Radiographic imaging reveals a concerning picture—a large restoration proximal to the pulp, indicating symptomatic irreversible pulpitis and symptomatic apical periodontitis.

Dr. Nudera swiftly grasps the severity of Joanna's condition and prepares to confirm his diagnosis through clinical examination.
